" Quarrying "

Quarrying antiquities
like late summertime trees
in paintings and drawings
bountiful resources
subsisting modestly
as busybodies
mimicking romance novels
universally acknowledged
published posthumously
like doldrums of domesticity
becoming comically sleek
via offhand techniques
deemed promising
harvesting conglomerates
experiencing cyclonic
storms pummeling water
shuffling staggering
wrapped in blankets
painstaking heartbreaking
reviving memories
of deadly hurricanes
upon losing neighbors
still more rain displacement
of coming days taking
cover bracing raging
waterways staid grave...
