" One Might Hope "...

" One Might Hope "

by Suzán Jiván Mom & Mom-Mom Suzán

One might hope for sweet and fatty species
while dispersing seeds for queens
not of our bodies via wild forests
toucans' emus' monkeys' stories
of many species nurturing tiny minorities
whether corn rice or wheat minus papaya trees

in early paintings dark art evolving
where no one farmed bones and fossils
broken apart leaves terminates beetles
year by year like finite immensities
for indigenous peoples unknown globally

but enough about biology
beneath deciduous canopies
babies emerging birthing collectively
gathering genes in scenarios
of vast possibilities as resources deplete
yet flourishing at the margins gone foraging
running out of options shooting stars...

" Shaggy Bragging Rights"...

" Shaggy Bragging Rights "

by Suzán Jiván Mom
& Mom-Mom Suzán

Shaggy bragging rights
of self-aggrandizing
long-haired firebrands

simultaneously uniting
and dividing fiery life cycles
almost overnight via divining
aiming to find clarifying water rites

while living under cantilevered
lifetime fantasies compromised
by deep-down-micro-psyches

lying beneath South Seas
polar region interstices
randomized and double blind...

" Packed Full "...

" Packed Full "

by Suzán Jiván
Mom & Mom-
Mom Suzán

Packed full of warnings
fraught by evidence laws
needing strong overhauls

suffering scrums
as sidewalks crumble
by the dozens

outside of night clubs
never meant for the young
having thrown punches

once known as "discovery"
like "supposed-to-bes"
upon entering pleas of "not guilty"

crushes of people turning angry
losing patience releasing statements of rage
being denounced as "fake"

coming under investigation
stashed under the table
making unsubstantiated claims

blaming prior administrations
advocating long-awaited changes
copies obtained as legislated mandates

estranging states draining outrage
tightening sanctions at staccato paces
threatening retaliation sanctuary spaces
secured in vain...

" Still Rooting for Humans "...

" Still Rooting for Humans "

by Suzán Jiván Mom
& Mom-Mom Suzán

Still rooting for humans
cue the music
of forbidden differences

as mutual suspicions
viciously interdicted
via villainous sordidity

hash tagged: "down-and-dirty"
done "on-the-cheap"
in a data stream of unmet needs

where flooding is a possibility
breaking free and bobbing violently
calling in the Emergency Hazmat Team

navigating miles and miles of steam
sulphur scrubbers up-and-running
due to harmful byproducts

press, "RE-START"
in between you and what you want
getting "dirty looks" from MOM...

" Part of the Cure "...

" Part of the Cure "

by Suzán Jiván
Mom & Mom-
Mom Suzán

Part of the cure fewer perks
coverages being curbed
less money for the poor

cuddling to help ease
the withdrawal for new borns
at a hefty cost vying for offerings

losing weight and length
without sacrificing space
nor naïveté in the work place

ambitious policy makers
being flooded by applications
from DJs as critical players

seasoned by changes
in such new relationships
teased and tweaked
by creative teams

showing intimacy on the big screen
taking the lead in battles for primacy
while treading lightly on birth rights
full time where suspicions lie
human and otherwise...

" Shaking Up "...

" Shaking Up "

by Suzán Jiván
Mom & Mom-
Mom Suzán

Shaking up
like no other
it's in the blood
coursing true love
pulsing tantrums
practicing kissing
literally skeezy
experiencing thinking
of creating chemistry
asking to be seated
with chivalry
coming in handy
like lip-smacking
postcoital snacking
upon taking a stance
with emotionality kept intact
as openness and care
from a female mantis,
"What big eyes you have!"...

" Pure Slapstick "...

" Pure Slapstick "

by Suzán Jiván Mom & Mom-Mom Suzán

Pure slapstick dexterity antics
frenzied dancing quivering lips
agitated histrionics cavorting and clowning
never letting the action lapse
developing rapidly no chance to relax

continuing hilarity spurred on by publicity
epitomizing wit in twisted positions
like newborn infants all pantomimists
in cotton tights on opening night
subtitled  "In the Limelight of a Meteric Rise"

drawling amusing lines suffering from laryngitis
with unerring timing in recent revivals
to no one's surprise from high society
all-too-wisely as a precocious child
via mobile show-stopping set designs
waiting to be dubbed "A Knight"
by a steadfast admirer befitting a wide-
eyed bride on her wedding night...
